Position in Cybersecurity, Faculty of Informatics, Masaryk University, Czech Republic

This position is aimed to strengthen the work of the Centre for Research on Cryptography and Security (CRoCS) at the Faculty of Informatics. CRoCS works to improve security and privacy of real-world solutions through applied research (often in cooperation with industry) and advanced education of future security professionals. System security or network security focus are most desired, yet the abilities to work with a team of graduate students and faculty on research targeting top security/crypto conferences and to engage both undergraduate and graduate students in both educational and research exercises are most critical. Expert knowledge suitable for teaching is expected in at least one of the areas covered by courses:

The starting salary for this Assistant Professor position is 74,000 CZK, and with the progress in this tenure-track position can in no more than 3 years be modified based on the level of involvement in research and educational projects.

Candidates with borderline record and/or missing skills may be offered a Lecturer position for the start of their engagement. The monthly salary for the Lecturer position 46,000–55,000 CZK.

Post-doctoral position in computer security, Masaryk University, Czech Republic

Deadline for application: March 1, 2017.

Masaryk University, Faculty of Informatics, is seeking an outstanding candidate for a post-doctoral position in the field of computer security, targeting at least one of these areas:

  • security in wireless sensor networks (IoT),
  • usable security,
  • hardware-based security systems.

The successful candidates would work the Centre for Research on Cryptography and Security, headed by prof. Vaclav (Vashek) Matyas. More info is at https://crocs.fi.muni.cz/public/research/main

Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree not older than 4 years at the time of application, from a university outside of the Czech and Slovak Republics. In case that the Ph.D. defense is not yet finished, the candidate must also provide an official letter certifying that his/her Ph.D. thesis has already been submitted for defense and outlining the expected schedule of the Ph.D. defense. Candidates with a Ph.D. degree from a Czech or Slovak university may also be considered if they prove at least two years of post-doctoral research experience abroad.
